Chefchaouen
The blue city of the Rif mountains: a quiet medina of painted façades, stairways and viewpoints.
About Chefchaouen
Chefchaouen sits on the slopes of the Rif in the north of the country. Its medina, with walls painted in shades of blue, is small and easy to explore on foot.
It is usually combined with Fez, Tetouan and Tangier on routes through northern Morocco. Staying at least one night lets you enjoy it calmly once the day visitors leave.
What to see
Outa el-Hammam square and the kasbah.
The blue streets and stairs of the upper town.
The Spanish mosque viewpoint at sunset.
