Clear answers for planning your trip to Morocco: when to go, how to get around, how to request a trip and what to keep in mind before you leave.

Planning your trip

3 questions

When is the best time to visit Morocco?

Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) bring pleasant temperatures on most routes. Summer is very hot inland and in the desert, while the Atlantic coast stays milder. In winter the days are often sunny, but desert nights are cold and it can snow in the Atlas.

Do I need a visa to enter Morocco?

It depends on your nationality. Many nationalities, including citizens of European Union countries, can enter without a visa for short tourist stays, usually up to 90 days. Always check the current requirements for your passport with official sources, such as the Moroccan consulate or your foreign ministry, and make sure your passport is valid for long enough.

How many days do I need to see Morocco?

A week lets you combine Marrakech, the Atlas and a night in the desert. With ten to fourteen days you can add Fez, Chefchaouen or the coast without rushing. Keep in mind that road distances are long, especially towards the desert.

Tours and activities

3 questions

Can a tour be adapted to my interests?

When you request a quote, tell us your dates, how many of you are travelling and what you would like to see or do. With that we propose an itinerary and adjust it with you before anything is confirmed.

What does each tour include?

Each tour page shows the duration, the itinerary and what is included whenever that information is available. If a detail is missing, ask us when you request a quote and we will confirm it in writing.

Are the activities suitable for children or older travellers?

It depends on the activity. Medina walks and cultural visits suit almost everyone; hiking, long days on the road or camel rides need a little more fitness. Tell us who is travelling and keep it in mind when choosing the pace of your trip.

Destinations and transport

3 questions

How do you travel between cities in Morocco?

Trains link the main cities of the north and centre (including the high-speed line between Tangier and Casablanca), and long-distance coach companies cover much of the country. For routes through the Atlas and to the desert, a vehicle with a driver is usually the most practical option.

Which destinations combine well in one trip?

A classic combination is Marrakech, the Atlas and the Merzouga dunes. In the north, Fez and Chefchaouen fit together very well. From Marrakech it is also easy to add a few days on the coast, for example in Essaouira.

Is it easy to find your way around the medinas?

Medinas are labyrinths of narrow, car-free streets. An offline map, comfortable shoes and, the first time, a local guide help you find your way and learn their history.

Booking and quotes

3 questions

How do I book a trip?

This website has no online booking. Request a quote from the contact page or through the contact channels shown on the site. We reply with a proposal and, if it suits you, we confirm the details directly with you.

How far in advance should I get in touch?

In high season (spring, autumn, Easter and the end of the year) it is best to ask several weeks or even months ahead, especially if you want to sleep in the desert. Outside those periods there is usually more flexibility.

Can I change or cancel my trip?

The change and cancellation conditions are stated in the quote before the trip is confirmed. Read them carefully and ask us to clarify anything in writing.

Payments and practical information

3 questions

How is the trip paid for?

This website does not process payments. The payment method is stated in the quote and agreed directly with you before the trip is confirmed.

What currency is used and how do I pay in Morocco?

The currency is the Moroccan dirham (MAD), which you generally obtain once in Morocco, from cash machines or exchange offices. Cards are accepted in many hotels and some shops, but cash is best for souks, taxis and tips.

What should I pack?

Layers, because days can be warm and nights cold, especially in the desert and the mountains. Clothes that cover shoulders and knees are recommended in traditional neighbourhoods. Add comfortable shoes, sun protection and a plug adapter (types C and E, 220 V).
