About Hiking in the High Atlas landscapes

The High Atlas shows a Morocco very different from the cities: green valleys, stone and mud-brick villages clinging to the slopes and paths linking one village to the next.

There are easy walks of a few hours along the valley floors and more demanding routes to passes and peaks. The Imlil area near Marrakech is one of the most common starting points.
